Curtis Berak
Curtis Berak has had a passion for the hurdy gurdy (vielle a roue) for over 20 years, performing, restoring, and
collecting antique hurdy gurdys from the early 18th C., amassing the largest collection in America. He has made a
concert tour of Ireland, and played for film soundtracks of "Polar Express", "The Three Musketeers", "The Craft",
"The Tie That Binds", and "Newsies". Curtis is an internationally recognized professional harpsichord builder,
and also restores antique fortepianos.
Scott Cazan
Scott Cazan is a composer, performer and media artist currently residing in Los Angeles, CA where he is pursuing an MFA in Music
Composition at CalArts. Recent works have involved chamber ensembles, live electronics/installations, robots and improvisations on laptop.
His musical interests have included the sonification of relational data, algorithmic composition, human relations with technology, space
and architecture. Recent works and collaborations are being performed throughout the greater Los Angeles area, France and Germany.
Pepe Dosal
Pepe Dosal was born in, "Linares" a small village in the region of "Cantrabia," Spain. At the early age of 17 he
immigrated to the United States in search of a better future. Many years have passed since then and Pepe has embarked
on a rich variety of life experiences. He has been a shepherd, cowboy, soldier, police reserve, business owner, as well
as having a small role in an old Western film titled SAM WHISKEY, along with BURT REYNOLDS, CLINT WALKER, OSSIE DAVIS,
etc.... but nothing has been more rewarding than playing "La Gaita Asturiana" the bagpipe typically played in the
northern region of "Asturias," Spain. With his bagpipe in hand, he has toured the world, started the first Spanish
Bagpipe group in Los Angeles, as well as recorded a CD titled after the river that runs through his hometown "Rio Deva."
He is considered to be the "Gaiteru Mayor," the major bagpipe player, of Penarrubia, land of his ancestors and where he

Comprising Scottish bagpiper Lorne Cousin (Madonna Reinvention Tour) and international recording artists Steve Sidelnyk (Seal,Madonna,The Verve),
Ted Hutt (Flogging Molly) and Sean Spuehler (Madonna,Blur,William Orbit), DRAM! was formed to stretch the boundaries of traditonal bagpipe
music and reconstruct it for Worldwide audience never before reached. Having made their first live appearance in Shanghai,China in August
2007 the band has gone on to perform during the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, at the Human Rights Campaign Dinner in Beverly Hills and
at numerous other club events in and around Los Angeles.DRAM!'s music is electronica with a strong bagpipe theme and they can now count
Madonna, Alan Cumming and Danni Minogue amongst its fans. It has become clear that DRAM!s appeal is universal and they have deservedly
earned the monicker DRAM! THE FUTURE SOUND OF BAGPIPES.
Vinny Golia
Vinny Golia (b. The Bronx, New York City, New York, March 1, 1956) is an American composer and multi-instrumentalist
specializing in woodwind instruments. He performs in the genres of contemporary music, jazz, free jazz, and free improvisation.
Golia lives in Los Angeles, California and teaches at the California Institute of the Arts. He has performed throughout the
United States, as well as in Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Japan. In 1982 he founded the 47-piece Vinny Golia Large Ensemble
to perform his compositions. Golia has performed and/or recorded with many notable musicians, including Anthony Braxton,
Henry Grimes, John Carter, Bobby Bradford, Jo‘lle LZandre, Wadada Leo Smith, Horace Tapscott, John Zorn, Tim Berne, Bertram
Turetzky, George Lewis, Barre Phillips, Rova Saxophone Quartet, Patti Smith, Harry "the Hipster" Gibson, Eugene Chadbourne,
Kevin Ayers, Andrea Centazzo, Peter Kowald, John Bergamo, George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band, Misha Mengelberg, Nels Cline,
Han Bennink, Lydia Lunch, Harry Sparnaay, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Golia also founded the record
label Nine Winds in 1977.
Bruce Teter
Bruce Teter has been playing the bagpipes for 15 years, from the French court bagpipes of the Baroque and Renaissance
(the musette), to 19th C French folk bagpipes, to Irish Uilleann bagpipes, and recently, the Italian Zampogna.
Bruce also performs on pipes, recorder and other wind instruments in his Baroque ensemble Distorted Pearl, in
the Rennaissance ensemble Wessex Consort (wessexconsort.com), in the LA Recorder Orchestra (larohome.org), the
Irish band The Praties (thepraties.com), in the Pirate band The Doxie Chicks, and is a harmonic throat singer.
Bruce is an Associate Professor at UCLA studying Alzheimer's disease.
